From 9/11 to 11/9
How did we get here? 9/11 shocked us as a nation. We thought we were safe over here away from all the bad guys. But when we found out we weren’t, we panicked and allowed the government free rein to do whatever it took to keep us safe. That’s brought us to today. A fascist regime destroying America for “our safety” with the tools we allowed them to build. The enemy is no longer “over there”.

This Saint Charlie Kirk is bullshit. Any Democrat who refuses to say so needs to go. Maybe the whole Democratic Party needs to go. The GOP went Trump, we need to go anti-Trump. They’re trying to take this country away from us, we need to wrench it back. No mercy, no cooperation. No more strongly worded letters.
Trump has managed to expand his already massive ego to the entire government.
Because he sees himself as the country, anything that offends him he thinks offends the entire country, and he’s using the resources of the government to exact revenge.

Remember what Republicans are saying now in an effort to harass and punish liberals for “celebrating” Kirk’s death.
Because we can throw it all back at them when Biden passes away.

The Sunday Not-So Funnies
I expect that this Sunday nearly every “news” program will ignore the fascist coup in America and instead host radical, misinformed, shit-stirring Republicans who will manufacture a narrative that permits them to blame Kirk’s death on Democrats and further motivate their base to violence. Ignoring solid evidence to the contrary, they’ll blow out of all proportion the very few political and mass killings committed by their favorite targets of hate, while ignoring or downplaying the fact that the shooters have been primarily young, white, males, radicalized by hate mongers like Kirk.
If one killing is unacceptable but multiple killings are ignored, you aren’t mourning the victim of that one killing.
You’re upset at an attack on your ideology. The victim isn’t really important.

To use that idiotic ”frog in boiling water” metaphor, he didn’t gradually turn up the heat, he cranked it to high immediately. By rushing he couldn’t gauge the level of outrage and resistance among the majority of us.

The privileged few of YouTube
I like watching tech and woodworking videos on YouTube. But I’m beginning to harbor a bit of resentment watching these folks spend so much money on computers and tools while others can’t afford food or housing. We rant about the oligarchs but fail to notice that many people on YT are oligarchs, too.
Our best chance to weather any storm that comes our way is to cultivate a healthy sense of humor.
When you can laugh at life’s disasters, and yourself, you can take all those slings and arrows and survive.
Nation States, not the United States.
As blue states organize to preserve our Constitutional Republic they are applying the concept of states rights. An extreme application of states rights may destroy the “United” states but it will provide havens of freedom and safety from the fascist states. We’ll resemble Europe with nation states.
Americans, thanks to our Idiot in Chief, will be seen now as uneducated, violent, and anti-freedom.
Of course no decent country on Earth will deal with us or even accept us as tourists. Many in Europe had a bad opinion of Americans before. That’s been increased by a factor of 100.
